The huge area of land east of Patterdale to Shap, not too many towns but the valleys include Riggindale, Longsleddale and Kentmere, the walks include High Street, Harter Fell and the Kentmere Horseshoe...

Southern Lakes 
The are to the south of Langdale including the highest land in England, that of Scafell Pike and Scafell, and the Valleys of Eskdale and Little Langdale and the town of Coniston

Far Southern Lakes
The area to the south of Coniston, including Ulverston and the Furness area

Northern Lakes 
The northern area includes Keswick, Threlkeld and Caldbeck and includes walks on Skiddaw and Blencathra

North Western Lakes
The North Western area including Buttermere, Braithwaite and Cockermouth with walks on Grasmoor, Dale Head and Grisedale Pike

Western Lakes 
The Western area includes Wasdale and Ennerdale with walks including Great Gable and Pillar

Penrith & the Pennines
The Eden Valley, to the east of the Lake District including Penrith, Appleby and the Howgill Fells

West Cumbria 
The area to the west of the Lake District, the plain between the mountains and the sea including Whitehaven and Workington
